year. The National Trust for Scotland properties are beautifully
preserved with wonderful furnishings and are normally open from
Easter to November.
Summer is beautiful, but still peaceful in this remote, rural area. There
are Moray
Firth Wildlife Events on every week from May to October. Join
in with the Highland Games throughout the summer from June to September - the photo above (right) is the massed
bands marching from the Games field at Tomintoul and below is a strong man tossing the caber - a great favourite at all Highland Games. More Games Photos

Autumn is a beautiful time to visit, the roads are empty off traffic
and autumnal tints are glorious. This is an ideal time for walking
the hills like Ben Rinnes or on the many fascinating trails on the
Glenlivet Estate in the Cairngorm National Park. Christmas or Hogmanay
are a special time to visit with a high probability of snow for
that magical white Christmas. At New Year in Scotland, everyone
likes to relax, drink whisky and party. |
